James Thomas “Skip” Wall

Sadly, Skip Wall, the publisher of Southern Motor Racing, passed away this past week. He fought a long and valiant fight against cancer. Like so many good men he could not win that battle. Skip Wall is among the better souls and will be sorely missed by his many true friends.

James Thomas “Skip” Wall, of Winston-Salem, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice

Home after losing his courageous battle with cancer. He was born February 16, 1955 in Princess Anne County, VA to James and Peggy Chambers Wall. Mr. Wall was a self-employed workaholic.

He was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge #707. He was also an avid race fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving is his daughter, Leslie Highfill (Adam); son, Chazz Wall; four sisters, Vicki Hall (Doc), Jennifer Shouse, Lisa Vaughan (Doug) and Penny Martin; two grandchildren, Christian and Chloe Highfill.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 30 at Center Grove Baptist Church, 8200 Center Grove Church Rd., Clemmons with Dr. Steven Corts officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to those who touched their lives during this difficult time
